Common Questions

how should i store the hot honey?

The hot honey should be stored in a clean glass jar in the pantry. Don’t store it in the fridge because the cool temperature will speed up the crystallization process. If the honey starts to crystalize (which is normal), just warm the jar gently in hot water.

why did you add apple cider vinegar to this hot honey?

I like adding a bit of apple cider vinegar to my Hot Honey Recipe because I find that it helps cut a bit of the sweetness.

Is there a substitute for chili flakes?

If you don’t have chili flakes, you can use crushed red pepper, a pinch of cayenne pepper, or even finely chopped fresh chili peppers as well. Adjust the amount of heat to your preference.

what hot sauce did you use?

I used Frank’s Hot Sauce, but you can use what you like. Sriracha, Tabasco, or Chipotle sauce would all work and will certainly add a unique flavor to the recipe.
