Common Questions
The hot honey should be stored in a clean glass jar in the pantry. Don’t store it in the fridge because the cool temperature will speed up the crystallization process. If the honey starts to crystalize (which is normal), just warm the jar gently in hot water.
I like adding a bit of apple cider vinegar to my Hot Honey Recipe because I find that it helps cut a bit of the sweetness.
If you don’t have chili flakes, you can use crushed red pepper, a pinch of cayenne pepper, or even finely chopped fresh chili peppers as well. Adjust the amount of heat to your preference.
I used Frank’s Hot Sauce, but you can use what you like. Sriracha, Tabasco, or Chipotle sauce would all work and will certainly add a unique flavor to the recipe.

- 1 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon chilli flakes , to taste
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce, I used Franks Red Hot
- 3 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
Instructions

- We want to infuse and release the heat from the chili, so please do not boil it or take your eyes off of it. Let it gently simmer for 3 to 4 minutes, then take it off the heat.
- Stir in the apple cider vinegar and let it cool. Store it in a mason jar or any jar you have on hand, and leave it in your pantry. This never lasts long in my house because we go through it fairly quickly, but it should last you for months. Enjoy
