This Guava Margarita Recipe is a spicy-sweet, tropical masterpiece that deserves its own happy hour 🍹🌴💃. First of all, it’s got heat 🌶️. Then, comes the zing 🍋. And finally, guava juice shows up doing the absolute most. Whether you like your margaritas with a little fire or prefer them mild and fruity, this spicy guava margarita is fully customizable and dangerously easy to make. My bestie Lea and I were playing mixologist for a day, and let’s just say, we’re accepting tips in the form of compliments and applause. Oh, and if you don’t have a shaker bottle? No problem. Use a mason jar or a stainless steel tumbler or whatever vessel your heart desires. If it holds liquid and has a lid, it’s a cocktail shaker now 🍸✨.
Why You’ll Love This Spicy Guava Margarita Recipe
To start, it’s fruity 🍑, fiery 🔥, and fizzy 🫧 — a true triple threat in the best possible way. The guava brings that sweet island vibe, while the lime adds a little zip, and the jalapeño 🌶️ brings the heat. It’s bright, refreshing, and tastes like vacation in a glass. Even better? You can tone down the spice, swap in lemon if needed, or play around with the sweetness level to make it your own. It’s the perfect party drink, dinner drink, or Tuesday-at-4pm drink 🥂. No judgement zone here.
Ingredients
🌶️ Jalapeño: This is what brings the heat, but don’t worry, you’re in full control of the spice level. Infuse the drink with just the right amount of kick.
🍯 Agave or maple syrup: Just a touch of sweetness to balance the heat. Agave is classic, but maple syrup works too. Either one balances the lime.
🍹 Tequila: Use your favorite tequila.
🍊 Triple Sec (Cointreau): Adds complexity, brightness, and that classic margarita edge, rounding everything out with a hint of orange flavor.
🍋🟩 Lime juice: If you’re in a lemon-only household, that’ll work too.
🌺 Guava juice: Guava brings floral, fruity vibes and makes the whole drink feel like a vacation.
✨ Sparking water: A fizzy little top-off that adds effervescence and lightness. Flavored or unflavored, dealer’s choice. I love a lime or grapefruit seltzer here.
🧊 Ice: For shaking and serving. I make my own slow-melting ice at home using this ice tray.
Nonna’s Tip🍹
If you want more spice, leave the seeds from the jalapeño
